Standard Deviation Over a Volume

Hello all,

I would like to calculate the mean and stddev values of concentration over a Domain. I know how to do the mean (Derived Values > Volume Average), but not the standard deviation.

I have looked at some solutions on this forum, but I am hoping someone with more experience than I could explain the simplest route for doing this calculation. The more info the better, as it seems many others have had the same question without an answer.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello Carl,

See my answer here and the attached file (The problem has a trivial analytical solution for which the standard deviation can also be analytically computed, as a check).

Jeff,

This solution appears to work for my model. I appreciate you taking the time to provide the file. It was helpful to see an example.

All the best,

Carl
