Hi, I am trying to plot the band structure of a 1D photonic crystal. In 2D simulation, wave optics module and eigenfrequency study, I designed my structure. For infinite periodic structure I am getting the band structure correctly and there I am using periodic bundary condition with Floquet type in 2 sides and periodic boundary condition with continuity type in other 2 sides and I am getting correct result there. But for a finite structure or a structure with only one defect layer, I should not use periodic boundary conditions there. If I don't use any boundary conditions in a certain direction then it will be PEC by default but I don't want anything to be reflected. So can anyone please suggest me which type of boundary conditions I should use for finite structures in eigenfrequency study?
Thanking you, Sudarshan Das
