Problem Description
If the COMSOL 5.3 installation path contains a space, an error is returned when running the functions mphstart and mphlaunch at the MATLAB prompt.
The error returned when running mphlaunch is:
'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
The error returned when running mphstart is:
A connection to COMSOL could not be established. Please check that a COMSOL server is started prior to calling mphstart.
Solution
Download the files mphlaunch.p and mphstart.p and save them in the mli folder of the COMSOL 5.3 installation, for instance C:\Program Files\COMSOL\COMSOL53\Multiphysics\mli
