On A Particle Tracking Technique To Predict Disinfection In Drinking Water Treatment Systems
Veröffentlicht in 2010
Disinfection of drinking water is required to prevent the outbreak of water-borne diseases. Different treatment steps are available to disinfect the water, such as chlorination, ozonation or UV irradiation. The hydrodynamics of these processes play an important role in their performance. COMSOL Multiphysics was used to simulate the water flow in disinfection installations. Moreover, a particle tracking routine using the resolved flow fields from the COMSOL simulation was developed to calculate the movements of individual micro-organisms.
