Modeling and Multiphysics Simulation of the Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing
Veröffentlicht in 2023
In this paper, we present a study of the simulation of Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Additive Manufacturing (AM) using a multiphysics approach. We use a combination of Heat Transfer in Fluids, Solid Mechanics and Laminar Flow physics to accurately simulate the DED process. The simulation provides detailed information about the temperature of the melt pool and the thermal stresses in the deposited material. Results demonstrate the importance of a multiphysics approach for gaining insights into the complex interplay between various physical phenomena during DED AM. The findings of the study have important implications for the optimization of the DED AM process.
