Unidirectional Constraints

I was trying to solve a system of 2 odes of second order using the coefficient form PDE module.

One of the boundary conditions is a function of the derivatives of the variables. So I couldn't use the drichlet and the neumann boundary conditions therefore I defined a Constraint instead.

I wasn't getting the expected results with my model and started tinkering about and found that the drichlet boundary conditions are by default unidirectional and my constraint was bidirectional by default.

As soon as I changed it to unidirectional, I got the result I was expecting. I tried to find the difference on these constraint setting and the manual has negligible information on this part.

Could someone please explain the differnces between these 2 or give me links to any reading material I could use to figure it out.
