Can a function affect a field variable into a physics ?

I am using COMSOL 5.1. In my model I am using "Transport of Diluted Species" physics. This physics uses Fick's Law of Diffusion as a governing equation where concentration C is the dependent variable.
The model has two rectangular box : one small box is at the top of a big box. The boundary condition is defined at the top edge of the small box : concentration of flowing species C=1.21 mol/m^3.
In the small rectangular box I have defined an interpolation function that reduces the concentration 1.21 to 0.15 mol/m^3 at the lower edge of the small box when the species flow down. That means the concentration 0.15 is the new concentration of the species when the species flow down to the big rectangular box. In the attachment I have attached a image of the model to understand it easily.
Now my question is, the interpolation function or any function can affect the value of a dependent variable (in my case it is Concentration C ) as I wanted or the concentration of the flowing species will propagate according to the governing equation of the Physics? Thanks in advance. Hope that someone has answer of my question.
