Semiconductor Module- Thermionic Emmision

I am trying to simulate heterojunction solar cells in 2D, and having some trouble with the Thermionic Emmision (TE) model for continuity. When i compute with 'Continous Quasi Fermi Level' (CQFL) model for the continuity, i get reasonable results and see the proper solar cell operation. However, when i switch to thermionic emmission, it gets significantly harder to converge and the result is meaningless.
I used 3 study steps, where it first solves it for continuous quasi fermi level, at the 2nd ramping up the continuity factor for thermionic emmission, and at 3rd sweeping for bias voltage values).
The JV curves i obtain using both CQFL vs TE is attached.
Anyone had the same problem or have an idea where the problem is?
