Problems with external Radiation Source

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I'm trying to do some heat transfer simulations for a project for my university. I want to simulate lunar ambient, so I created a function for the temperature in function of time and another one for radiation. The goal of my project is to study how the regolith increases the temperature in function of the radiation flux.

When I apply an external radiation source, I choose the option "Infinite Distance" and "Blackbody" as source heat flux definition. Then, the temperature heat source is 5780K and when I put the heat flux that the regolith receives I "run"the calculations.
The problems that I have is that I obtain the same results if I change significantly the heat flux or if I change the Incident Radiation Direction.

Do you have any suggestion? For applying a vacuum ambient, I just didn't apply any convection and in "Heat transfer in solids" I set 0 as Absolute pressure. Is it correct?

Thank you for your help and suggestions!
