Traction does not converge

Hallo everyone,

I'm trying to model thermal stress in a glas plate caused by a solder drop with a initial temperature. The problem is that the traction does not converge with finer mesh, it gets bigger and bigger after refining the mesh.
I'm doing a time dependant, 2D axissymmetric study.

I would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Max

Hi Max,

I believe there is a stress singularity at the edge between the drop and the plate due to the discontinuity in the initial temperature. That is why reducing the mesh size results in higher stresses.
