Did you build your model directly in 3D, or 2D then 3D?

I am making 3D model using block height 250 um , width 80um ,and depth 1 um. I want to create a multi hole in this block . I am making membrane of MEMS switch .

From my opinion, I think it is better if you draw your structure in 2D, then you export your geometry to a file. Use that file later in a 3D model and extrude it by 1 um.
