How to apply current？

I would like to ask how to apply current when two copper contacts are assembled together by extrusion and the voltage of the two contacts is the same? If the voltage of two contacts is set to the same value, will the electric field change when the motion separation is applied later? Thank you for paying attention to my problems. Sounds like you need to look into moving mesh for this. Maybe a little more detail on the setup can help.
