Where can I find the meaning of certain parameters

Hi all,
I read a tutorial about Karman vortex street simulation several days ago. There was a weird formula, U_mean*6*s*(1-s)*step1(t[1/s]).
It took me quite long to find out what does "s" and "step1" mean. Actually, I found out their meaning in Comsol forum rather than Comsol software itself.
So where can I find the meanings of those parameters? Namely, "c" stands for concentration, "step1" stands for step function, etc. Is there any built-in-library in the software that I can look into?
Thanks for helping.
Best regards,
Mao
