Inconsistency Between 2D Axisymmetric and 3D Simulation Results

I'm trying to perform a thermal stress analsys on a layered solid structure that is basically an edge clamped suspended disc. I want to investigate the strain and solid displacement of the geometry when it is cooled down from a high temperature to room temperature. I get different results when I model the problem as 2D axisymmetric and in 3D (quarter structure with symmety boundaries). What could I be doing wrong?
