Building Geometry using variable

Hai, I want to build a geometry, for example, two blocks separated by a distance d. Then I want this d to be time dependent d(t), so distance between the blocks changes when I do a time dependent studies and so it behaves like that my two blocks are moving. I have defined a variable as d(t) using proper functions according to my needs, but I can not add this "d" in my geometry (as the distance between the blocks), there only I could add parameters not variables. Is there any way around it? or am I doing anything wrong? I want my model to to undergo sort of an uniform motion during the study. Is there any other way to make the model behave in this sort of way using any other modules? Any kind of help is much appreciated,
thanks, Harris
