Hi, I was wondering if we could evaluate in postprocessing mode the line integral over a close curve (or not) of the normal(or tangential) component of a vector field along this curve (I find no information in the derived values in results)? I am presently using 4.2

Hi

if your closed curve is an internal (or external or combination) boundary, you select it and integrate the vector components dot (nx,ny,nz). BUT be aware of the direction of a normal to an internal boundary is in any direction (COMSOL chooses one) you can see this by adding the arrows to the boundaries (if I remember right up is to the left if you are wolking on the boundary towards the arrow, pls check, you can use the More Plot option too )

On external boundaries it's easier, "up" is always towards the exteriour

Good luck
