Convergence problem for contracting cell

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi!

I created a 2D axisymmetrical model to examine the deformation of a (stem) cell on a (polyacrylamide) gel after contraction.

With previous problems (earlier post) out of the way, I now run into the problem that with a very low prestress (1 kPa), my model computes, but with the desired prestress (300kPa), the model fails to compute (even at a very high number of iterations). I've tried different mesh settings, as well as different settings for the solver, but can't manage to get it working. Is there anyone with experience of similar problems for a model with an Initial Stress? Does someone have tips to get it running?

Thank you in advance!
