Hi All,

Im new to using comsol and not sure of its full capabilities....I m working on a project, where I use a resiprocating compressor model (Creo/E). The analysis I want to conduct is to find the pressure and temp difference within the piston cylinder at diferent stages of the piston motion at constant speed. once this is completed I want to change the speed of the piston using diferent mechanism and then find the same and then compare results.

Is this analysis during motion even possible with comsol ?

there is a physics named "moving mesh (ale)" under mathematics, but I don't think you can get a complex motion path with it. If you have to study the piston only with just a vertical motion it would be alright though.

Thank Yoann, Its not only the piston but also the fluid in the cylinder (air properties) that Im interested in collecting.

yes I got it but you just got to draw a rectangle (or cylinder if in 3D) for the total space of your air, and you use the moving mesh physics only on your piston. Normally it would do.
