What is the distance between a particle and the patterned wall

Hi,

I am trying to simulate the particle deposition via COMSOL and I need to know the distance between a particle and a wall with periodic prism surface patterns. I know that the particle degrees of freedom are given the variable names qx, qy, and qz at Particle tracing for fluid flow at COMSOL but I have to define a force between a particle and the patterned wall surface which is depend on the distance between the particles and the patterned wall.
