2D - Laminar flow and heat transfer

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

i'd like to do a 2D simulation with laminar flow and heat transfer in solid physics, but i have a problem. I have to do a square within flow the air at a temperature of 100K (inlet: left - outlet: right) and, in the middle of the square, a circle of copper (like heat source). At the bottom of the square I set a temperature of 288.15K. When I simulate, the temperature of all domain is done by the circle of copper that are heating, but the air that flows in the square doesn't influence the temperature of the domain (also if the temperature of the air is very low). Someone can help me, please? Thank you!

Hi Tyler,

without seeing your model with settings it's hard to judge what you have done wrong. IN any case, for that kind of problem we have several well documented tutorials. I recommend starting with this one:

Hi Mr Friedel,

thank you for your reply.

In attached you can find the comsol file of my simulation.

What I need to do it's to analyze if a fluid, that flow in the square (inlet:left - outlet:right) with a temperature of 100K and a velocity of 100 m/s, can influence and how much influence the temperature of the circle in Copper in the middle of this square. This circle is an heat source of 1000 W/m3.

Making the simulation, I can't see any effect of the fluid on the copper, also increasing the velocity and decreasing the temperature of the fluid.

Can you help me please?

Thank you very much.
