time dependant variable from file

I can successfully import data (time, value) with the interpolation function. However, I can't get COMSOL to look up these values every timestep and use the corresponding value in the equations... I tried to name the interpolation function my_data and define a variable datavalue = my_data(t) that I use in the PDEs.
The data looks like:
't'\s 'values'\m
0 0.2
3600 -0.1
7200 -0.3
... ...
The model crashes with:
Repeated error test failures. May have reached a singularity.
Time : 21599.9999999935
Last time step is not converged.
But I am not sure if this is actually linked to my problem.
