Hi all, I see that this question has previously been posted. Are there any updates regarding the use of COMSOL v4 with Amazon EC2? I'm willing to give this a try if the academic license allow it/if it is possible at all!

I can say more or less that the academic license (or any other license) will not allow it, since they are bound to your MAC address and amazon EC2 does not have a constant MAC address unless you keep it running all the time. There can be two other options which you may ask your local office:

1. If they let you use a password key. When I asked for trial they usually give pass, not MAC bounded.
2. You use cluster option of Amazon EC2, which may have the same MAC all the time. I don't know it myself and I will research it soon, since it is not documented.

Would be great to learn more. I had tried EC2 before and specially the new cluster option sounds a bit more affordable.
