Applying voltage to PM machine in 2D

Hi everyone.

I'm working on a project in which I'm modeling a PM motor.

My question is if anyone knows a method for applying a voltage potential directly onto the stator windings of the machine while modeling in 2D, instead of going via the current density? Applying a current density will not yield valid results in my model as I am assessing the transient responses of the machine.

Hi,

If you model the stator winding as a "Multi-Turn Coil" feature in 2D, you should be able to choose a Voltage excitation options in addition to the Current or Circuit excitation. Note that if you are modeling only a sector, for example, a 90 degree sector, the input voltage applied for a sector should be 1/4th of the total input voltage to the stator winding.
