1D Cauchy Problem

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello all,

I am having difficulties with solving simple 1D Cauchy Problem:

e*u_tt + sigma*u_t= u_xx,
u_{t=0}=u_t{t=0}=0,
u_{x=0,t<T1}=f(t), u_t=u_x|{x=0, T1<t<T2}
u_t=u_x|{x=1, t<T2}

Well to use time dependent BC i need to use Weak Form, right?
I don't understand what is Weak Term, Time dependent form, Constraint.
I can only guess that Weak term is whatever inside of the integral after integration, Time dependent is whatever has time derivatives, and constraint is not clear to me at all.
And another question how can i set change of the boundary condition with time?
Please help if you can, probably for you guys this is very simple question.
