Air gap measurement between stainless steel and aluminium using capacitance sensor

Hi all,

Im new to COMSOL and I need to do a simulation on measuring air gap between stainless steel and aluminium using capacitance sensor.

Actually it is a measurement of air gap in car engine head block between the valve seat and the engine block. To ensure that the valve seat was pressed/inserted properly into the valve place, the gap between the valve seat and engine block must be less than 30micron uniformly. There were several method of measurement, but most of them using laser technique and photo processing. I want to try to use capacitance to measure it as the material are different (valve seat - stainless steel, and engine block - aluminium).

Is it possible to do the simulation in COMSOL?

Thank you.
