Points do not match surface anymore after topographic interpolation -> impossible to mesh

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,
I am new to Comsol and I have an issue I can't figure out.
My aim is to simulate measurements (the kind of physics do not matter here) in 3D using a Digital Elevation Model (DEM). For this, I import this DEM into Comsol. Then I add points which correspond to sensors in the field. The elevation of these points is directly extracted from the DEM such that their elevations match the elevation of the DEM.
However, when importing the DEM into COMSOL, the interpolation process tends to alter/smooth the topographic surface such that the points do not match the topographic surface anymore.
I have been trying to use varying tolerance for the model but it does not work.
A hint might be to use the deformed geometry but I have not been able to make it work so far.

Did any one face this problem? And solved it?
Thanks in advance
