Transition Boundary Layer

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I'm modelling a hollow-core fiber with the WaveOptics module.

I want to get the (complex) effective mode index of the principal modes, so I can analyse the losses. However, I only get real effective mode.

I guess it is related to the option of the Transition Boundary Layer I chose. I tried a few different. If I use the "relative permeability", can I enter the complex relative permeability of silver at 10,6 [µm]? Or does it have to be a real number ?

Thank you for any help,
Joe
