AC Electrical Field simulation in interdigit structure

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

hi

I want to do AC filed simulation for interdigit structure. I am wondering what kind of physics should I select and how I can apply AC signal to my structure?

I would appreciate any help

If the dimension of the structure are in the order of magnitude of the wavelength you are interested in, you must choose RF, if the wavelength is much bigger (at least 10 times, but this absolute minimum) you can choose AC.
In either case you would probably choose a frequency domain study.
You can use, ports, lumped ports, terminals and potential BC to apply a signal. There are some examples in the model library.

Thank you very much for your reply, I could not find something in model library for Electrical field simulation, could you please tell me where exactly I could find it?

Thanks in advance

There is a bunch of models under AC/DC > Capacitive Devices. Maybe you need to update the model library. And I would recommend to update to the latest COMSOL version. The 4.0 version is said to be pretty buggy.

Cheers
