Weak form of pde containing both x and u.

In the weak form of PDE I want to write a equation which contains both the dependent variable "u" and the independent variable "x" . But every time I write it is showing the error as "Unexpected unit of input". Then I have tried to add the displacement unit to "u" but still the the equation is not taking x into account. Can anyone suggest me what to do?
