Removing Symmetric Boundary Condition leads to non-converging model

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello everyone!

I am modeling a rib with a small inlet gap in the middle. For my
first simulation I used symmetric boundary conditions on both sides of the body.
The simulation converged for every mesh.

If I remove the symmetric BC on one side and declare it as an additional outlet, I have big problems with the convergence of the system. For a very coarse mesh it somehow still converges, for finer meshes however it does not.

How can I improve the convergence of the model? I don't think that I am missing boundary conditions.
I've also tried to split the domain into 3 parts using initial values. Convergence does not improve.

Any hints? I've attached a file of my model.
