Hi,

I've been using Comsol 4.2a for a month. Can anyone explain what the term floating potential means?

Hi

have you really searched the doc, the help, www.comsol.eu/products/multiphysics/glossary/ and the FORUM ?
Not to say the knowledge base.
I agree you will not find replies everywhere but several explanation at several location.

For me the name is rather explicit, the first definiton I get from the help:

The Floating Potential node is used when modeling a metallic electrode at (a) floating potential.

that I understand as defined by it's environment but not influencing it by removing current

Good luck
