Wave optics problem not converging for large domain size

I am doing a wave optics study on a nanoparticle inside a sphere (world domain) along with PML. Everytime I set the radius of the sphere to be larger than the highest wavelength used in my study, the model does not converge(I'm using an iterative solver). Can anybody please tell me why this happens?
