The priority of relative error and absolute error

Hi all,

I'm just checking some error setting problems now in the simulation.

I used to be a Matlab ODE guy, In that case, the general matlab ODE solver can be set with either relative error or absolute error.

For COMSOL, I'm quite confused with the setting of relative error and absolute error and the priority inbetween.
It seems that at least it's not simply one overiding on another. I would like to say, the results are based on both relative error and absolute error setting as well.

Is anyone has this kind of feeling? or It's still my illusion?
