mass balance failure..

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi.

I am new in COMSOL and I am currently working on a model of supported liquid membrane devices. The basic model is that two channel are separated by a layer of membrane in the middle and species transport from the first channel into the membrane and then into the second channel. Boundary conditions of continuity of flux and discontinuity of concentration (equilibrium relationship) are considered at the two interfaces of membrane. Refer to the torturial of** membrane-dialysis**, i used pointwise constraint at the two interfaces and completed time-dependent calculation.

But, as i am checking the results, after steady situation, i find that mass balance is not achived at the outlets, e.g the species concentration at the two outlets are more than which is at the inlet. that means the calculation is failed. I can't find out where the problem is.

I appreciate any help in this topic.

Thanks a lot.

Jorge
