Packed Bed Reactions and Diffusion

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

My system is a packed bed with reactions occurring in the fluid and the species from those reactions diffusing in the fluid and the solid. I have the fluid velocity field computed using the Brinkman momentum equations. However, I am having trouble adding the reactions and species transport.

I tried using the Reacting Flow in Porous Media physics but could not find a way to include the diffusion into the solid. Then, I tried the Reactive Pellet Bed in Transport of Diluted Species, but the reactions take place in the center of the pellet instead of in the fluid. I am most interested in the concentration distribution in the fluid and don’t need the concentration in the pellet.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to model my system, either building on what I have already tried or something completely new?

Thanks,
Meredy
