Gaussian distribution

Hey!

I want to know if it is possible to add a gaussian distribution as a initial condition. I am working in 1D and in the Math Module, simulating a heat transfer. I want an initial temperature distribution being like the gaussian distribution to avoid some discontinuity problems.

Thanks!

Yes, it's as simple as typing in the expression you want in the Initial Condition node. In your case, for a normalized centered Gaussian distribution, (1/(sigma*sqrt(2*pi)))*exp(-(x^2/(2*sigma^2))) where the value of sigma is specified in the Parameters node, or whatever you wish. COMSOL's GUI is interpreted.
