Boundary Selection

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I have a geometry and I want define a circle on that geometry as a separate boundary. I have done this before on imported meshes by adding a ball but am unsure on how to do it in the geometry level. Is the ball selection option possible? This seems to only select current boundaries not create a new circular boundary.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!

Hi

if you have a 3D geometry and a "flat surface" you can define a 2D Workplane on that surface and draw your circle thereon. That should be enough to "split" the surface in 3D

If your surface is not flat you need to make an intersection with another 3D object and remove "Geometry - Delete Entity" the non desired entities.

This applies basically by similarity to 2D too

The basic COMSOL geometry module allows quite some tricks like this, you have even far more options in the geometry "Design Module".

Good luck
