Phase Field Method - define parameters

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone,

I'm using the phase field model in Comsol, but I'm not really sure how to define the required parameters, such as: surface tension coefficient,
interface thickness,
mobility tuning parameter,
phi-derivative of external free energy,
etc.

Anyone any idea how to define these parameters and what are good values to at least start with?

Thanks,
Tara

Hi Tara,

I think it will be better if you have an experimental configuration and you need just trying to modify your the values demanded by Comsol.
I'll use this idea :-)
good luck

Dear Tara,

In general, simply use the default values. If you would like to modify them, please refer to p.110 and 111 of the 4.3a microfluidics module user guide in the Phase Field Interface section.

Best,
Fabrice

Dear Fabrice,
I've a question for you.
If I want to input an anisotropic mobility, not an isotropic one, in a phase field model. How can I do that ?
Best regards.
