I want to know whether we can model a cable in comsol or not?

I want to model a coaxial cable so whether can be made here?

Hi,

The Coaxial Cables can be modeled using the RF Module as done in the following models:
1. www.comsol.com/model/finding-the-impedance-of-a-coaxial-cable-12351
2. www.comsol.com/model/transient-modeling-of-a-coaxial-cable-12349
3. www.comsol.com/model/connecting-a-3d-electromagnetic-waves-model-to-an-electric-circuit-10833
4. www.comsol.com/model/finding-the-impedance-of-a-parallel-wire-transmission-line-12403

We hope this will be useful.

Thanks for your reply.

I want to model a cable that consist of inner conductor with dielectric on it and an outer conductor wrapped on that dielectric. So in the mean time there will be two arrangements. 1. Dielectric material and Inner conductor that are straight and extends longitudinally. 2. Outer conductor that is wrapped spirally on the dielectric.

Can you please specify the commands that can help me in this regard.

Thank you

Hello everyone,

I am trying to model a three phase electrical cable in COMSOl to calculate Power loss.

Is there any model anybody can share or is there any video talking about electrical cable calculating power loss?

Thank for your help.

I build a model to study the magnetic field and electrical field of two cables. I have the voltage data and current data. But how can I apply both voltage and current simultaneously to the cable? I prefer not to use the CIR interface. Thank you very much.

Hello,

With respect to modeling a three phase electrical cable, you may find the first part of this article helpful as a starting point for your modeling:
