How to couple solid domain to fluid domain with continuously changing interface

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello all,

I am using COMSOL 4.4 and trying to solve a transient problem involving a fluid phase in contact with a solid phase. The interface between these two domains change with time due to chemical reaction at the interface. At the same time load is applied to the solid domain. The problem is 2D. I would like to track the profile of the interface over time by solving the chemical reaction at the interface (between fluid and solid domains) and simultaneously solve the linear elastic structural analysis in the solid domain. I have to mention that I am not using the solid-fluid interface module.

I appreciate any comments on how to couple these two domains (i.e., two physics) in a transient problem.

Thank you,
Mehdi
