Repelling of two magnets on top of two rods

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear All,

I have attached a model. Two magnets are on top of two rods and the magnets lets assume they have opposite polarities so they have to repel each other and the rods should deform.

Please help me how can I simulate it, to see the deformation of the rods.

Thank you.

Edvin,

Attached is your model with deformed rods.
I made several changes:

- Added second “Force Calculation” node, so each force node calculates stress tensor for separate rod (you can’t use single “Force Calculation” node for both rods)
- Added two “Boundary Load” nodes in Solid Mechanics interface to apply Maxwell stress tensor load

Note, this model is valid for small displacements only. If you want to consider large displacements, then Moving Mesh interface (ale) should be added.

Regards,
Sergei
