Conditional boundary temperature for phase change model of ice

I have been searching through the forums looking for a solution to a problem I am having with simulating the melt of ice below rock. I have successfully created the model following numerous examples and specifically the tin melting model. I've also been able to get it to work in 2D and 3D, however, the one condition that I do not like is that in the tin melting model they set the melt boundary to the melt temperature. As I see it, this is what allows the computation of the Lagrange multiplier. So, I've been wondering if it is possible to set this boundary to a conditional temperature where if it gets to the melting temp it stays at the melting temp, but if the surface cools it can be allowed to cool as well. I suppose it's like saying it's maximum temperature can only be the melting temp.

I hope this might make a bit of sense. I'm still a newbie to Comsol but I am loving it and have just been here for a few weeks trying models, reading forums and trying to digest the thousands of pages of instructions, directions, hint tips and tricks. If anyone might have some insight or suggestions I'd greatly appreciate any help. In the mean time, I'll just keep plugging away.
