Squeeze flow: level set with moving mesh

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am new to the fluid module and am trying to simulate a liquid droplet being pressed between two plates where the plates are larger than the initial droplet (the other problem is much easier to solve). I am attempting to model this with the two phase level set approach with one phase being the simple liquid (high viscosity, incompressible) and the other phase being air, using no slip walls (also not working but that I can at least play with), similar to approaches I have seen for injection molding. The problem is implementing the plates, which I am trying to do as moving walls coupled to the mesh through ALE. Unfortunately, while I can get the simulation to run without the ALE, it won't even make a first iteration with it. I have attached the model here and any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon
