How do Comsol handles variable density?

I'm modelling the refrigeration of a liquid, which properties are dependent of the Temperature. One of them ist the density. Therefore the liquid may lose volume as it cools down. Which I understand as a form of compression.
As navier-stokes can only be used by incompressible fluids, I was predicting a error in the solution (about 20%).
The fact is, the solution was not that bad (error about 5%). Can COMSOL compesate this kind of compression?
thanks
