Modelling Pyroelectricity of PVDF

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had undertaken a model to determine the pyroelectric output voltage of a PVDF film (or any other pyroelectrically active piezoelectric material) when exposed to a given heat input on one side of the film over time. The film can be considered as a 100mm dia circular disc with a circular active electrode of approximately 4mm dia. I was intending on making a 2D axisymmetric model at first.

I am fairly new to COMSOL and thought that I would see if a simple /obvious path to implement pyroelectricity has already been undertaken elsewhere before I struggle onward! This will form part of a larger model with acoustic heating, but I have already undertaken that and only need assistance with the pyroelectric aspect.

Many Thanks in advance
Jason
