I am trying to design a 2D microfluidic channel using COMSOL Multiphysics 3.2b. Inside of the channel, I want to fix an object and use COMSOL to calculate the magnitude of the von Mises stress exerted by the fluid (water), onto the object in the channel.
Currently, when I attempt to calculate the von Mises stress using solve, and generating a surface plot of the von Mises stress on the object, I keep getting that the von Mises stress is equal to 0 everywhere on the object. The fluid is clearly flowing though as I also plotted the velocity profile. I am thinking that this is because the object's position is not fixed in the channel. I am currently using COMSOL Multiphysics 3.2b and I am using the incompressible Navier-Stokes and Plane Stess Multiphysics.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
