track velocity of inflow fluid

Hi all,

I have a tube which has an inlet to allow fluid to flows in. Would like to know, how can i track the velocity of inlet fluid flow when it flows inside the tube? By using particle tracking module? Any tutorial suggested?

Thanks!

Hi

particle tracking gives you the displacement of a "partcile" driven by external forces, but not necessarily the "velocity" of the fluid.

Once you have a solution you can use the contour or isosurfaces to see the velocity, or a "height plot if you are in 2D.

Ypou can also use the Results Data Set cut line or cut plane (and series of lines/planes) to plot the velocity at different levels in your model space, without necesarily cutting up your geoemtry

Good luck
