Fluid-Solid Interaction and Heat Transfer in a Solar Chimney with Vortex Generator

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, I have built a simple solar chimney model with a passive vortex generator with reference to https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S096014812100032X and https://www.comsol.com/forum/thread/attachment/62739/models.mems.fluid_structure_interaction-10017.pdf

Questions: 1. Is there a document guide to using the Turbulence flow k-E with a simple example? 2. How can I add a constant heat flux to one wall of my structure? 3. Can someone please guide on what is the suitable range of values for Thermal Conductivity k_iso and Heat Capacity at constant pressure Cp for (i) an elastic winglet (Vortex Generator) with below values

  • Property Variable Value Unit Property group
  • Young’s modulus E 2e5 Pa Basic
  • Poisson’s ratio nu 0.33 1 Basic
  • Density rho 7850 kg/m³ Basic

(ii) Rectangular Chimey

  • Property Variable Value Unit Property group
  • Density rho 1e3 kg/m³ Basic
  • Dynamic viscosity mu 1e-3 Pa·s Basic

I am trying to generate Temperature variation along the absorber surface for different time instances

Thanks in advance!
