Showing Magnetic Fields

I need to know if Comsol 4.2 is able to show the magnetic fields of two magnets, one of which may be an electromagnet, and the relationship between the two as to their attraction and repulsion of one another? Also, can it show the duration, perhaps in as little time as milliseconds, of the electromagnet? I am just a machinist with inventive potential and a newbie to the forum.

yes that is all within COMSOL's capabilities. You can run static, time-harmonic and explicitely time-dependent analysis on electromagnetic models. You can do this in the AC/DC approximation as long as the model is much smaller than the wavelength of the electromagnetic field and you can go for the full RF approximation for all kinds of models.

Cool! I want to find a point where one magnet can "bump" another magnet and maybe use that as a way to propel objects in the weightlessness of space. Are you listening Nobel Peace Prize Committee? :-)))
