Assign material to a certain area in LiveLink to Matlab

Hello! I create model in Comsol, save as M-file. I want to edit this file for batch solving. I sink this strings uses for compliance new material with certain area:
"
model.material.create('mat1');
model.material('mat1').selection.set([1]);
model.material.create('mat4');
model.material('mat4').selection.set([5]);
"
and so on.

How to find out what is this area ("1" and "5")?
I just want to create program wich will control the quantity of the biological cells (each cell - simple box). How i can associate this batch created by program areas with some materials?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English.
